In the Community As a Maine based, family owned business, Hammond Lumber Company is committed to public service and to making a contribution to the local and regional communities that have supported us over the years. For example, since 1995 we have invested in the future of the building construction industry with a vocational scholarship program offered yearly to 11 institutions in Maine. Scholarship recipients are chosen by a selection committee at each vocational school. Believing in the values and ethics of good sportsmanship, we have also been an enthusiastic supporter of area athletic teams from our earliest beginnings. Within the framework of athletic competition, area youth have been given the opportunity to accept a challenge, to compete, and win or lose, to stay in the game. We’ve developed many enduring relationships over the years and the people of Maine are part of our history and continued success. Accordingly, we make every effort to contribute in ways that are most beneficial to the community at large.
