Hammond Lumber Company underwent an intensive process and achieved our Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody certification in 2007, allowing us to supply commercial or residential projects that require certified wood products.  We are one of only a handful of dealers in Maine who can offer this certification.  We are very proud of this distinction and hope that you can benefit from our dedication to green building. Our vendors such as Omega, Merillat, Bertch, Schrock, Yorktowne, and Aristokraft are all certified suppliers through the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer's Association Environment Stewardship Program. This program grants certification to those manufacturers who promote the sustainability of natural resources, reduce waste, and go above and beyond in their efforts to reduce environmental impacts. We carry several lines of doors and windows that carry the Energy Star rating, including Andersen, Pella, Marvin, ThermaTru, and Masonite.  We also offer metal roofing and asphalt shingles with the rating (IKO Super White Cambridge 30 AR and Marathon Ultra AR). There are several products in our stores that offer low VOC emissions.  Many finishes by California Paints are LEED credit worthy, and will earn valuable Indoor Air Quality points under the Indoor Environmental Quality LEED category.
