Throughout the month of August, Hammond Lumber Company is proud to partner with Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine, the Retail Lumber Dealers Association of Maine (RLDAM), and the New Hampshire Retail Lumber Association (NHRLA) for a companywide Food Drive & Fundraiser focused on helping neighbors facing food insecurity.
From August 1 through August 31, 2026, all Hammond Lumber Company locations will serve as collection sites for nonperishable food donations. We invite our customers, employees, and community members to join us in making a meaningful difference for families across Maine and New Hampshire.
Keeping Our Impact Local
One of the most meaningful aspects of this effort is that donations collected at each Hammond Lumber location will stay within the local community. At the conclusion of the food drive, every branch will deliver its collected donations directly to a nearby food pantry affiliated with Good Shepherd Food Bank, helping ensure food reaches neighbors in need close to home.
Most-Needed Food Donations
We are collecting a variety of nonperishable food items, including:
- Peanut butter
- Canned vegetables and fruit
- Canned tuna, chicken, and other meats
- Pasta and rice
- Soup
- Cereal
- Shelf-stable milk
- Macaroni and cheese
- Boxed meals
- Other pantry staples
Every donation, regardless of size, can help provide meals and support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
