For the fifth year in a row, Hammond Lumber Company was proud to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Maine Pond Hockey Classic, held February 6–8 at Camp Tracy on McGrath Pond in Oakland.
This year’s tournament brought out 66 registered teams from across the region (and beyond) in a spirited 4 on 4 outdoor hockey competition showcasing the true spirit of pond hockey and community camaraderie.
Hammond Employee Team Took the Ice
We were thrilled to sponsor a Hammond Employee Team that competed in Division D and finished as runner ups in the tournament. Thank you to the employees who represented the company — your teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship made us proud both on and off the ice.
The weekend offered:
-
High-energy pond hockey action with no goalies
-
Food trucks and festival food
-
Live music and entertainment
-
A beer garden and social atmosphere for teams and spectators alike
It was a great opportunity for employees and families to come together, experience the fun of outdoor hockey, and cheer on teams throughout the weekend.
Supporting a Great Cause
Proceeds from the tournament benefited the Alfond Youth & Community Center in Waterville. This year’s Maine Pond Hockey Classic raised over $45,000 in direct support of the AYCC, helping fund youth development programs, athletic opportunities, and community services that positively impact families across Central Maine.
In addition, approximately $7,500 was distributed to support other local sports and youth programs whose volunteers played a key role in helping the tournament run smoothly throughout the weekend. This collective impact highlighted the strong sense of community and collaboration that defines the event.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and supported this year’s Maine Pond Hockey Classic. Championships like this bring people together and our Hammond team helped carry that spirit through the weekend!
