Hammond Lumber Company has always made employee training a top priority to make sure all our employees have the skills they need to help every customer that walks through our doors. Recently six Hammond employees had the opportunity to train with Makita at their facilities in Buford Georgia.
Day one of training was spent inside in the training room learning how to choose the right tool for the job. Then the training headed outside allowing everyone to participate in hands-on demonstrations that involved cutting, chipping, and destroying concrete with large power tools.
Day two started with a tour of the Makita manufacturing plant to see how the tools they had been using are made. Everyone was in for another round of hands-on demonstrations but this time with smaller corded and cordless tools. Time was also spent going over new OSHA rules and how to use all power tools safely when dealing with materials containing silica. After all the training and demos were done Hammond employees were awarded their certificates of completion!
